October Favorites | 2015

I filmed my favorites for the month of October. Favorite products include skincare and makeup loves, both drugstore and high end! Check it out, and let me know what your favorites are this month!

Thanks for all the love over the last couple of posts. Let me know what you would like to see from me, and I’ll be sure to comply! xoxo

Shopping My Stash | First Edition

So I placed the challenge to shop my stash and avoid purchasing new products this month. Here is my first look! I hope you enjoy!

I taught a lecture this morning along with having a student meeting, so this is a neutral eye look paired with a bolder, fall lip. But the lip isn’t too in your face that it’s overwhelming or inappropriate for the halls of academia.

Face products I used:
Primer: Hourglass Mineral Veil Primer (Sephora sample)
Foundation: L’Oreal Infallible Pro-Matte in 102 Shell Beige (Medium coverage and shade matches well to my skin tone)
Concealers: Undereye: L’Oreal Magic Lumi Highlighter in 862 Pale; Spots/Nose/Chin: ELF HD Lifting Concealer-This stuff is awesome for $3!)
Bronzer/Contour: The Body Shop Honey Bronzer in Medium Matte (Holy Grail-awesomeness!)
Blush/Highlight: Tarte Amazonian Clay blush in Exposed on the cheeks from the apple to the ear with Milani Baked Blush in 05 Luminoso as a highlight and touch of color on top of the cheeks
Setting Powder: NYX HD Finishing Powder in Translucent

Eyes (My take on a simple day-time smoky eye):
Primer: Nars Pro-Prime Smudge Proof Eyeshadow Base (Pricey but worth it)
Palette: Lorac Pro Palette with Light Pink all over the lid, Mauve in the crease, Black in the outer corner and smudged

Upper Lash Line: Rimmel Scandal Eyes Waterproof Kohl Kajal in 001 Black-which I smudged upward a bit
Lower Lash Line: Wet n Wild Kohl Eyeliner in 652 Dark Brown with the Espresso shade from the Pro Palette smudged on the outer part of the lower lash line.
Mascara: Top: Benefit They’re Real; Bottom: Clinique Bottom Lash Mascara

Brows & Lips:
Brows: Anastasia Brow Wiz in Taupe (and yes, the spoolie part broke off while traveling-insert minor panic attack when I wasn’t sure which end broke off!)
Brow Gel: Elizabeth Mott Queen of the Fill tinted brow gel in light-medium (Received in an ipsy bag)
Lips: Too Faced Melted liquified long wear lipstick in Melted Berry (perfect for this time of year)

Thanks for stopping by! Check back soon for more looks created from my makeup stash. xoxo

I have an addiction…

And it’s to shopping for makeup (online or in store, doesn’t matter)! I have decided after spending a large amount of money this past month on beauty products, particularly lippies, I am going to be shopping my stash for the next month or so. Baby steps, people, baby steps! I have decided that if I am to purchase any type of beauty related product, it has to be for gifting purposes, i.e. a great holiday palette that is sure to sell out for a Christmas gift. I also can buy products that I am in need of, i.e. razors, shampoo, body lotion. I am NOT in need of any makeup products, so it would be my daily essentials, as mentioned above, that may need to be replenished as the month goes on.

I know many beauty addicts have done these types of challenges in the past as well, so I am following this trend to benefit my wallet and use some awesome products that I forget about due to shiny new ones!

Have you found yourself spending your paycheck/allowance on new makeup and neglecting your tried and true faves? If so, please join me in this challenge, and we can update each other on our progress! I think it would be a great way to get to know each other as well. Leave me a comment letting me know what your makeup stash is like and how you plan to better utilize your goodies! I will post weekly updates on my progress as I attempt to battle my makeup junkie addiction. 🙂 Have a great weekend! xoxo
